Upgrade Your Attitude

I typically use Wednesday as my day to post my blogs, however, I was so excited about the second part of the B.A.D. Attitude blog post that I figured I would post it a little earlier.

Last week we talked about “How B.A.D. is Your Attitude” and to continue this week we are doing “Upgrade Your Attitude”. I want to share about David who had an incredible handle on his attitude. Yes, he did some crazy things in his life, however, he always had an attitude that positioned him to be the apple of God’s eye.

While studying David’s attitudes I was able to identify at least seven attitudes which he possessed. I challenge you over the next seven days to start your day with one of David’s attitudes.

Day One:  Rejoice – Rejoice in the Lord always

Day Two: Be Glad – Be glad and rejoice in His love for you

Day Three: Praise – Praise Him for His excellent greatness

Day Four: Sing – Sing unto the Lord a new song. Sing of His love, forever!

Day Five: Dance – Dance like David! Dance a dance of praise unto the Lord

Day Six: Give Thanks – O give thanks unto the Lord, in all things.

Day Seven: Worship – Bow down and worship Him, in spirit and in truth

Use these attitudes to set your tone for the day. Each attitude will help you to keep things in a certain perspective. Develop each attitude over time and add them to your success toolbox.

How B.A.D. is Your Attitude?

Most recently my husband and I relocated to the Tampa, Florida area due to his career. Everything was moving along wonderfully, until…we arrived at the Sanford, Florida Amtrak Auto Train station after traveling all night on the train with our cars in the auto carrier. For a mid January afternoon in Central Florida it was a beautiful 55 degrees, but mind you this was one day after the severe cold snap. Anyway, we retrieved our cars and took a nice leisurely drive to Brandon, Florida where we would spend three days waiting for our furniture. Well, three days turned into twenty-seven days!

I opened the blog with this story because we are talking about “attitudes”. In this situation my husband and I really could have chosen to let our attitudes control the situation. But we didn’t go that direction we agreed that God would handle it and that however He decided to return our “stuff” that is was His choosing.

Having gone through this experience it let me see that how you handle situations and circumstances is driven by your attitude. The definition of attitude is a feeling expressed through behavior. It is a response to how you think. While my husband and I were talking about our situation, the day we received our household goods, he said “You have to have a refuse to lose attitude. You can be delayed but you will not lose.” That is a very powerful statement because if you want to produce good results you must have a winning attitude.

One of your most significant decisions of the day is the attitude you will have throughout the day. Yes, you choose your attitude. You can choose to lose or choose to win. You can choose to have an okay day or you can choose to have a great day! One of the major things you have control of in your life is your attitude. It is your responsibility. And if you are going to choose a B.A.D. attitude choose this one:

Believing Attitude: Psalm 34:1-3

Achieving Attitude: Philippians 4:13

Determined Attitude: 2 Timothy 4:7

2010 is the year to win and you must change your attitude to be a winner. You were created by the genius of God Himself and winning is in your DNA, so exchange your bad attitude for a B.A.D. attitude and you will be sure to win!
