In 1977 R & B recording artists the Pointer Sisters recorded a song, “You Gotta Believe”. The chorus of the song goes “You gotta believe in something, why not believe in me”? This is the very question God is asking His people…”why not believe in me”?
There are recorded cases in the word of God which point to His grace, His love, His power and His glory. We can look into our own lives and see His grace, His love and His power. Over and over and over God has proven Himself as protector, provider, healer and deliver, yet, we still doubt if He is capable of delivering us from our situations. What you have allowed God to do in your life is not the sum total of His ability. We don’t trust him to enough to turn over our cares, our worries and our concerns to Him. I Peter 5:7 says to cast call your cares (anxiety, concerns, worries, problems, issues) on Him because He cares for you.
God loves us with an everlasting love. His favor and grace surrounds us everyday. It is He who is our source and provides for us in every area of our lives. We have full access to His grace and mercy because they are new each and every morning. It is through Him we have the victory! It is up to us to believe the report of the Lord!
If you gotta believe in something, why not believe in the true and living God!
